Imagine sitting next to your partner/spouse in a vehicle driving along a road that represents your life journey together. You blink then find yourself alone in the middle of a field and all you can see is tall, tall grass, that’s all that can be seen. You have no idea where you are, how you got there, and you are alone. This is how grief can feel for some people; utter confusion, bewilderment and overwhelm. Some people run around in a blind panic and some people just sit in shock and disbelief.
The grief journey is finding the way out of the field and back to the road, then learning how to drive a vehicle along a road that represents life’s journey but this time, alone.
